DJ Santo & Chauncey Canfield (Soulphonic Soundsystem, LA/DC)

This formerly-bicoastal production duo decended upon their newly adopted locale of Portland OR.  They have been mixing up jazzy downtempo grooves and broken afro bossa rhythms at various respective weekly residencies such The Transistor Lounge, Standard Hotel and Gazuza for the past 3 years. They've also established the world-renowned internet radio sites Soulphonic Sound Radio (formerly Transistor Radio) and GroovePalace.com. DJ Santo has held down residencies at Soul Bossa, Sunday Service, & The Standard Hotel in addition to the Transistor Lounge, and has DJ'ed alongside artists such as Truby Trio, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Funky Lowlives, Boozoo Bajou, Cuica, The Thievery Corporation, Nicola Conte, Thunderball, Desmond Williams, St. Germain, Bostich, dZihan & Kamien, and Fila Brazillia amongst others.

When the two perform together as Soulphonic Soundsystem, their hybrid live/DJ/laptop/keyboards shows combine on-the-fly remixing with other live musicians ...taking things to another level, as evidenced by the packed dancefloors on their numerous West Coast Tours. 

They've been spotted on the decks in venues such as NYC's APT, DC's Eighteenth Street Lounge, and LA hotspots like the Ivar, The Henry Fonda Theater, The Arsenal, MOCA, and many others. 

Their DJ talents and parties have been recognized by the LA Times, LA Weekly, Washington Post, LA City Beat, LA Alternative Press, LA Magazine, Meanstreet, and several other publications.
